Pursue your higher education in public health at FHS with a full scholarship
The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) is offering scholarships for graduate education in public health for the academic year 2019-2020. Funding for these scholarships is from the Special Programme for Research and Training on Tropical Diseases (TDR) hosted at the World Health Organization in Geneva. Successful applicants will be part of a global network of fellows supported by TDR that includes students enrolled in 7 universities worldwide. The objective of the scholarship program is to strengthen capacity in implementation research on the neglected tropical diseases as well as malaria and tuberculosis.
Eligibility

Applicants can only be considered for scholarship once they are accepted on a regular basis in the GPHP program.

Applicants can only be considered for scholarship if they have passed the English Language Proficiency Requirement (ELPR) by achieving the required score on either EEE, TOEFL or IELTS.

Scholarships are awarded to applicants for the fall semester of every academic year. Scholarships are not awarded for mid-year admissions

Scholarships are awarded to new students admitted into the GPHP. Currently enrolled GPHP students are not eligible for scholarship.

Scholarship applicants should be nationals of and resident in a low or middle-income country of the Eastern Mediterranean region – EMRO (as defined by WHO)
Selection Criteria
Prospective applicants will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

Commitment to work in public health in a low and middle income of the WHO Eastern Mediterranean region where tropical diseases/tuberculosis or malaria are endemic

Relevance of applicant's experience to public health or related fields

Local need for public health graduates in the country of the applicant

Previous employment, voluntary work or research experience concerning neglected tropical diseases, tuberculosis and malaria and/or interest/experience in conducting implementation research is desirable.

The TDR scholarship is only available to applicants to the following degree:
Master of Public Health (MPH) program with 3 areas of concentration:

Epidemiology and Biostatistics (EPBS)

Health Promotion and Community Health (HPCH)

Health Management and Policy (HMP)

The scholarship application form is part of the AUB online graduate application, under the financial aid section

The applicant who will be awarded the TDR scholarship will have to complete his/her degree within 2 years of enrollment, and is expected to provide FHS with 10 working hours per week starting his / her second term of enrollment.
